Geography & Travel

Our Big Blue Marble and its wonders: planet Earth contains many diverse environments, places, and spaces, some habitable and some not so much. It hosts powerful rivers, deep lakes, vast oceans, majestic mountains, sandy deserts, green plains, luxuriant jungles, and many more habitats, each with its flora and fauna. Humans have made a home in many of these environments, and have settled them and organized them into cities, states, countries, and regions, each with its own points of interest, curiosities, traditions, and resources. Today’s landscape of human geography is profoundly different from that of centuries ago due to human migrations and the settling of lands made habitable in more recent historic times.
